Established in 2021, Olive Grove is an Ofsted registered children’s home for up to 3 children/young people. We provide a safe, warm and therapeutic home for children/young people with EBD aged between 5 – 18, requiring medium to long-term therapeutic support.
We support the children/young people in our care through focussing on how to emotionally regulate to reduce a negative stress response and respond more safely to their environment and triggers. Our aim is to support our children/young people to overcome previous experiences of placement breakdown, impact of their trauma, and their inability to form secure attachments.
At Olive Grove, we are focussed on assisting our children/young people to achieve in all areas, make lasting memories and positively impact their life. We pay close attention to detail and hold the provision of a small, homely environment, where there are meaningful touches and a warm, safe environment that make a house a home, as important. We feel that providing this, with the flexibility for a child/young person to personalise their bedroom as a massive contribution to enhancing the childhood of a child/young person in care as more than ‘good enough’. Many professionals who work with us, note this as having positive impact on the children/young people we support.
Olive Grove work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to provide well-planned and managed placements. We genuinely care for our children/young people who benefit from the environment we create, which enables them to thrive and work towards positive outcomes. Our aim is to help our children/young people achieve positive change and outcomes, whilst also prioritising their current experiences of the world and supporting them to make positive change, they have a good quality of life and positive childhood whilst in our care.
We work collaboratively with all stakeholders, to support positive change, minimise risk and prepare for their next stage of development which includes independence.
We engage through muti-agency working relationships and through this the child/young person’s goal is paramount. This is integrated through our work and support of children/young people in respect of education, social and life skills work. We are focussed on working in partnership with families, professionals, and outside agencies to facilitate true multi-agency and multi-disciplinary working to ensure a high standard of care for our children/young people.
Children/young people who have experienced adverse trauma are at a significant disadvantage when it comes to making healthy lifelong choices and decisions.
Through focussing on empowering the children/young people we work with; we can enable them to develop coping mechanisms for their future lives and provide them with the resilience to achieve positive health and well-being. We aim to provide a bespoke
residential package that enables children/young people with EBD to develop their full potential, we are focussed on meeting their needs within a supportive, loving environment. We will provide advice and guidance to develop independence, supporting our children/young people in all aspects of their daily lives.
We believe that all children/young people deserve the opportunity to experience a loving, happy, healthy environment in which they are safe from harm and able to develop, thrive and fulfil their potential, and we aim to provide this for all the children/young people in our care.
