Rachel has worked for 26 years with young people who have complex needs within a mainstream and special setting. As a Headteacher, Rachel led the school and residential provision, achieving an Ofsted grading of outstanding. Rachel has led all aspects of strategic development of the school including, teaching, and learning, assessment, staff accountability, budget monitoring, safeguarding, and child protection of all children, developing staff through a CPD programme. As Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the residential school, monitoring all safeguarding procedures. Rachel has developed her career and has recently trained to lead a Forest School programme which can be used as therapeutic intervention and provide new experiences. Please see section 19 for further details. Rachel enjoys the outdoors, especially hiking, paddleboarding and camping. Her passion is to offer new experiences in the outdoors to develop young people, both in educational terms but also socially and emotionally.

Ian has worked as an educationist and independent consultant with expertise in leading and supporting complex organisations, Ian has significantly improved outcomes for young people and adults. Ian has led organisations, as CEO of Northern Leaders Trust and Northern Education Trust and due to his input there has been improved leadership and outcomes. Ian has managed finances and budget of significant amounts and has worked as an Independent Chief Adviser for Birmingham City Council, and his report provided significant changes to improve the leadership, governance, oversight and safeguarding of the city’s schools and academies. Other experience has included Executive Head Teacher of a large residential special school (EBSD). As the Director of an Education Action Zone in East Durham, Ian was responsible working with 51 school leaders and governing bodies he established an innovative range of programmes to raise standards of leadership and management. Professional specialisms include change management, reviews of leadership and management, leadership of investigations, evaluation of organisational development and improvement, leadership development, partnership development, recruitment and succession planning, budget and curriculum analysis, business financial planning.

Bev has worked many years in hospitality, developing her interpersonal skills which she really enjoyed. Bev changed her career to work at the Northeast Autism Society, looking after 7 children who were verbal and non-verbal. During her career, Bev has dealt with many challenging behaviours and developed skills in supporting children with her care effectively. Bev has now worked with young people for over 9 years and wouldn’t change her job. Bev like to spend time with her family and friends, and is keen on football, Rugby and loves spending time with her dog.

Adam has over 10 years’ experience of working with young people with complex needs within a residential and educational environment with success. Adam also has 22 years’ experience of working with young people within the Rugby Football League in a coaching capacity, recently coaching the Scottish national team. Adam has progressed to Deputy Manager, supporting leadership to provide a high level of care and assisting successful Ofsted inspections. Adam is hardworking, self-motivated, organised, and focussed on supporting young people within his care to achieve best life outcomes and thrive to new challenges in a safe environment. Adam has a love for the outdoors and team sports and will encourage young people to participate.

Emma has over 4 years’ experience working within a children’s residential setting, and in the last year in a leadership role. During this time Emma supported young people with complex and challenging behaviours, LD & EBD, both as a support worker and as a senior member of staff. Previously Emma helped to set up a new residential provision where she gained a knowledge of legislations and regulations. Emma has supported 2 Ofsted inspections within Olive Grove successfully, gaining invaluable experience. Emma has experience of what it takes to lead and support a team to provide a nurturing, caring environment for our young people and this is a passion of hers. Emma is keen to expand her knowledge further in the management side of the business. Emma is keen on walking and spending time with her family, friends and her two dogs. Emma loves all outdoor sports and is a keen paddle boarder.
