Purpose of Care

The ultimate purpose of Olive Grove Learning is to offer caring and nurturing surroundings to meet the social, emotional, and psychological needs of all our children/young people. An Individual tailored care, education and therapy approach will be  employed to provide our children/young people with consistency, quality care and most  importantly security.  Olive Grove Learning will provide both short and long stay residential care on a 365 basis. Working in  partnership with families, professionals, and outside agencies to facilitate true multi-agency and  multi-disciplinary working in order to ensure a high standard of care for our children/young  people. 


 The staff team within Olive Grove Learning can support children/young people who exhibit EBD and other needs  which may include Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), ASD, Oppositional Defiance  Disorder (ODD), and may have experienced the following: -


●        Social, Emotional and Behavioural difficulties  

●        Missing from home  

●        Child Sexual Exploitation  

●        Child Criminal Exploitation  

●        Domestic Violence  

●        Early Childhood Trauma  

●        Attachment Disorder  


We will work with specialist services to ensure the children/young people receive the highest  level of support to meet their needs. 


Safegauarding


At Olive Grove Learning we have a duty to protect the children/young people in our care. All staff members are  fully committed to providing a homely environment where young people can live safely, without  fear of abuse, threat, bullying, discrimination etc., from any other individual. Staff members will  strongly challenge any bullying or activity intended to hurt, harm, or offend others. Staff  members will closely supervise children/young people and act swiftly to safeguard them.  


 A committed, motivated staff team is the foundation for a  supportive environment where the aim is for the children/young people in our care, flourish and  are effectively safeguarded. 


Children/Young Persons Voice


At Olive Grove Learning we believe children/young people should have a voice which is fully listened to. No  child/young person will be unable to communicate his or her views. There are  clear systems and  opportunities for children/young people to contribute to decisions about their home.  Every child/young person living at OGL is given the opportunity  to participate in and shape the overall ethos, nature, and routine of the home.
